Don't want to sound bad, but I had OPEN surgery on Monday 10/27, came home on that Thursday and went back to work (light duty) on Monday. I figured I could set and home and recoup or be at the office. I walked 1.1 miles on that Monday but have not walked since. I need to get some exercise but just do not take the time.

If you feel up to it, try doing stuff instead of sitting around. I get stiff and hurt when I sit.

Anyway, hope you start to feel better.

I thought that left side pain was a kidney stone trying to form. I have been feeling it for a while. I think I am going good. Not eating a lot, never hungry and when I do eat, I don't get full. I ate protein drinks so I never get my protein in, at least I don't get 60gms per day.

But I have lost 46 pounds since my LSD days to today. All my cloths are so baggy, I cannot keep them on.

I can honestly say that the only foods I have progressed to are soft cooked vegtables.. like green beans, spaghetti squash, ect.. they don't seem to wiegh so heavy in my pouch and leave me satisfied.

I wish you the best of luck.. just remember when your trying something new to eat, cut it up into small bites, and chew it very very well... no talking while eating, and no drinking during eating.

Good Luck  :)

Topic: RE: Attention October Surgeries
Hi October friends!
I had my lapband procedure done on 10/11, so 5 weeks ago as of tomorrow. I feel really great, have energy and high spirits. Recovery was a breeze. I lost 14 Lbs over the 2 first weeks, then....only 0.6 Lbs each of the 3 last ones....OK, I was told that slow and steady was good, but still, that's really  slow to my taste!
I resumed walking 1 hour a day on an elliptical 2 weeks ago...but sprained my ankle yesterday, and THAT is not going to help the scale moving! I used to lift weight before surgery, but was told to wait up to week #6 to resume that kind of exercise.  Can't  wait for things to come back to normal!
On the food side, I don't really feel any restriction. I just have to be reasonable....and rely on the moment I begin burping: time to stop! I should schedule my first fill for end of November, beginning of December, but I'm still undecided between going to a doc close to my house who does not use fluoroscopy, or go back to my surgeon who is far away but insists on fluoroscopy for each fill. He told me it was the best way to avoid unnecessary fills and unfills. Any input on that?  Have a great day everyone!

I had RNY 10/20 and pasta is also on my list.  I want to try it but I'm terrified because of the stories I've read on here from other people trying it, so I think I'm going to wait.  I'm 3 weeks post op and have lost 30 pounds.

Has anyone progressed to other foods without dr release?  I'm handling any and all soft foods well, I'm ready for something more.

I had RNY 10/10/08 and pasta is on my list of soft foods. I lost 19lbs. before surgery and 19lbs since. I think you will find different Dr.'s have list that differ from one another. Follow your surgeons directions and I will follow mine (without accusing people of not following the rules).
Good luck on your journey, everyones path is different.

I had lap Roux en y on 10/10/08. I am doing great. I lost 19 pounds proir to surgery and 19 pounds since surgery. I am still on soft foods, I see the Nut. on Nov. 24, can't wait. I'll finally get some real food. Most soft foods get along with my pouch just fine, but I really have to take my time eating and drinking. My surgical experience was really good, went home the next day, saw my Dr. on 10/17/08 and went back to the gym on 10/20/08. I  MY RNY !

I had a stall at week 2 and it lasted me 2 weeks. Now my scale is finally moving again! Yeah! From what I hear you will go through lots of stalls in the whole weight loss journey. It happens. Just keep it up and you will get past it.

well I tried mac/cheese because that was one of the items on the list of foods that I can/could try at 3 weeks post op from my surgeon.  I believe that each surgeon must have their own type of foods that are allowed, and aren't allowed.  I have followed this 3 page can and can't have list to the letter.
I am on 3 wks of post-op and have lost 23 lbs...

I spent 3 days in the hospital also, and was back to work within 2 wks ,,, with surgeon approval.
